Source Identification
VERITAS searches online sources and highlights relevant publications, articles, books and documents.
VERITAS is an online similarity checking tool for undergraduate dissertations, master's theses and other academic documents. It identifies matching passages and online sources and generates a detailed PDF Similarity Report, distinguishing quotations, legislative text and original writing.
A similarity percentage should be interpreted in context. Check the sources of highlighted passages, whether quotations are properly attributed and whether any passages need rewording or a more precise reference.
VERITAS searches online sources and highlights relevant publications, articles, books and documents.
Attributed quotations and translated quotations are distinguished from passages flagged for potential plagiarism review.
The system can identify Romanian passages translated from English, even when the wording does not appear directly in Romanian-language sources.
The system automatically distinguishes scholarly publications, legislation, standards and official documentation to support more precise similarity analysis.

The check continues in the background, and your report is sent automatically when it is complete.
Use VERITAS to check an undergraduate dissertation in DOC or DOCX format. The report highlights sources and classifies the passages identified, making it easier to review your document.
Textual similarity does not automatically establish plagiarism. Quotations, common expressions and legislative text can contribute to the percentage, so interpret the results in context and against your institution's rules. The Similarity Report is informational and does not constitute an official determination of plagiarism.

Checking your undergraduate dissertation before submission helps identify passages that resemble existing sources and may need revision. After the check, review the source of each match, the citation provided and whether any paraphrases follow the source's wording too closely.
Review the Similarity Report passage by passage, rather than relying solely on the overall percentage. Results may include properly attributed quotations, common expressions, legislative text or other legitimate passages. An undergraduate dissertation's similarity percentage therefore cannot, on its own, establish whether it contains plagiarism.
Do not assume that a single similarity threshold applies to every undergraduate dissertation. Checking rules and report interpretation may vary between universities, faculties and degree programmes. Interpret your VERITAS results alongside the requirements of the institution where you will submit your work.
